To thoroughly implement President Xi Jinping’s important directive on integrated ideological and political education across all school levels, and to provide students with a broader platform for learning and exchange, on the afternoon of December 20, Vice Dean Sun Tingting from the School of Marxism organized a visit for over 20 graduate students to Shenzhen Futian Foreign Language Senior High School. The group observed lessons by young teachers and engaged with members of the school’s Master Teacher Studio to explore integrated ideological and political education from primary to high school.
In an open-classroom setting, faculty and students from the School of Marxism observed two high school political science classes: "Deductive Reasoning in Simple Judgments" by Teacher Zhao Tian and "Cultural Exchange and Integration" by Teacher Wu Tong. Afterward, the evaluation group provided comprehensive feedback on the teaching design, classroom atmosphere, and other aspects of both lessons. Vice Dean Sun Tingting highlighted the unique teaching styles and personal charisma of the young teachers, showcasing their solid foundational skills and positive spirit. She emphasized that while imparting theoretical knowledge, young teachers should also guide students to engage with real-world issues, thus enhancing the effectiveness of education through both theory and practice.
Teaching and learning are boundless, as is research. Following the evaluations, the graduate students engaged in a lively discussion with the young teachers on issues related to integrated ideological and political education. Graduate students eagerly posed questions, asking about how teachers can attract students with personal charisma and ensure effective educational outcomes. The young teachers responded, drawing on their own teaching experiences. The graduate students expressed that this hands-on observation and feedback session deepened their understanding of various teaching models, processes, and focal points. This activity provided valuable guidance for their future internships and career development.
