On July 2, 2026, the School of Marxism held a dedicated meeting on undergraduate teaching work and end-of-term examination administration in Room H1-505 of Huiwen Building, making comprehensive arrangements for the final examinations of the second semester of the 2025–2026 academic year. The examinations are scheduled to take place all day on July 6, covering 5 courses and involving 20,939 student examination sittings. Wang Hong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School; Liu Zhi, Dean of the School; Vice Deans Ren Heng, Sun Tingting and Zhang Shoukui; Deputy Secretary Wang Ping; and all course instructors, newly recruited teachers and the teaching secretary attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Ren Heng, Vice Dean for Teaching.
Vice Dean Ren Heng made systematic and detailed arrangements covering every stage, including examination scheduling, examination room discipline, grading of examination papers, score assessment and archiving of materials. On the day of the examination, course instructors must arrive at the examination administration office punctually 30 minutes before the examination begins, and late arrivals must be eliminated. As lead instructors, they bear the core responsibility during the examination for managing the examination papers and safeguarding the fairness of the examination; they must personally take part in the entire process of paper circulation, strictly observe examination administration discipline, and resolutely eliminate violations such as designating key points for the examination, thereby ensuring the seriousness and fairness of assessment. Grading of final examination papers is a core part of teaching evaluation and directly affects the accuracy and fairness of teaching quality monitoring. To standardize scoring practices and unify the standards applied, key requirements such as the 100-point marking system, grading in red ink and the standardized placement of marks must be strictly implemented, so as to ensure a rigorous grading process and reliable results. As for the deadlines and procedures for grade entry and the submission of examination papers, the relevant regulations must be strictly observed to ensure that teaching archives are filed in a standardized and orderly manner, and all steps must be completed within the specified time limits so as not to affect the progress of subsequent teaching work. Vice Dean Ren Heng emphasized the criteria for determining teaching incidents at each level, requiring all teachers to strictly comply with teaching standards and resolutely prevent any teaching incident from occurring.
Dean Liu Zhi delivered an important speech on the seriousness and rigor of examination administration for ideological and political courses. On seriousness, he pointed out that ideological and political courses carry the mission of fostering virtue through education, and that the final assessment has a political dimension in both testing learning and evaluating the outcomes of education. He required teachers to heighten their political stance, to work with the aim of cultivating talent for the Party and the country, to strictly observe examination discipline and rules, and to fulfill their educational duties. On rigor, Dean Liu Zhi said that the steps of examination administration are closely interlocking, and that every stage — paper custody, marking and archiving — must be standardized, consistent and verifiable. He called on teachers to adopt a rigorous and meticulous work style, to carefully check all aspects of their work and to strive for zero errors or omissions, so as to safeguard the authority of ideological and political courses through standardized examination administration.
Secretary Wang Hong stressed that the meeting aimed to unify thinking and understanding, clarify work standards and tighten examination administration discipline, so as to ensure that all end-of-term examination administration tasks are carried out smoothly, in a standardized manner and in good order. All teachers present should earnestly heighten their political stance and fully recognize the distinctive political importance of examination administration for ideological and political courses. They should strictly abide by the rules and regulations on examination administration, ensure that every step is solidly implemented, and achieve standardization, rigor and freedom from mishaps. They should also proactively shoulder their educational responsibilities and, as lead instructors of ideological and political courses, firmly hold the bottom line of classroom teaching quality.
