In order to thoroughly study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, give full play to the disciplinary strengths and political character of the School of Marxism as a place where "the School of Marxism must live up to its name, and those in it must speak for Marxism," carry forward the red genes, temper Party spirit, guide faculty Party members in establishing and practicing a correct view of political achievements, and truly translate red resources into tangible results in ideological and political education, the Party Committee of the School of Marxism, Shenzhen University, recently organized faculty Party members to visit the Dongjiang Column Memorial Hall for on-site experiential study and a themed Party Day activity, so as to grasp revolutionary truths at the historical site and build a consensus on education through immersion in red culture.
As the principal base for Marxist theoretical research and ideological and political education, the School of Marxism, Shenzhen University, has always treated red education and the tempering of Party spirit as an important lever in building its teaching team. This experiential study activity was closely tied to the School's discipline development and educational mission and precisely aligned with the realities of ideological and political course teaching. In the memorial hall, guided by the docent, the faculty Party members visited the exhibition areas in turn. Through yellowed historical documents, precious revolutionary artifacts and vivid reconstructed scenes, they looked back on the eventful years in which the Dongjiang Column persisted in anti-Japanese guerrilla warfare behind enemy lines in South China and held fast to the positions of resistance against Japanese aggression and national salvation, and they came to a deep appreciation of the lofty revolutionary spirit of the Dongjiang Column's fighters — their loyalty to the Party, dedication to the people, fearlessness of sacrifice and practical, responsible spirit.
This experiential study was both an educational activity tracing the roots of the red heritage and a special study session focused on the School's mission and the recalibration of its orientation toward political achievements. Combining the characteristics of the Marxist theory discipline with their responsibilities in ideological and political education, the faculty Party members held in-depth discussions on "practicing a correct view of political achievements and doing a good job in ideological and political education." All agreed that the core of a correct view of political achievements is benefiting the people with a pragmatic and responsible spirit. For teachers of the School of Marxism, the greatest achievement is to uphold the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, integrate the basic tenets of Marxism with China's specific realities, and cultivate new-era young people with firm convictions who take on responsibility. The revolutionary forebears lived out their original aspiration and founding mission through their own lives, seeking no empty fame and pursuing no empty efforts, striving only for national liberation and the well-being of the people. This is precisely a vivid model for teachers of the School of Marxism in practicing a correct view of political achievements, and it also provides fresh spiritual nourishment for Marxist theory teaching.
Grounded in their core educational duties as teachers of the School of Marxism, the faculty Party members all said that they would take this experiential study as an opportunity to deeply integrate red resources such as the Dongjiang Column spirit with Marxist theory teaching, precisely match the needs of ideological and political theory course teaching, and incorporate red history and revolutionary spirit into the entire process of classroom teaching, case analysis and practical teaching, so that ideological and political classes have theoretical depth, historical warmth and practical force. The Party Committee of the School will give full play to its disciplinary strengths, establish a regular mechanism for experiential study of red resources, and promote the organic combination of red education with Marxist theoretical research and the reform of ideological and political course teaching, translating the short-term results of experiential study into long-term educational effects, continuously polishing premium ideological and political courses and cultivating high-quality teaching teams, earnestly fulfilling the School of Marxism's core duty of forging the soul and nurturing people, and practicing a correct view of political achievements through concrete action, thereby contributing the School of Marxism's strength to cultivating new-era young people capable of shouldering the mission of national rejuvenation and to advancing the high-quality development of the Marxist theory discipline.
