On May 23, 2025, the School of Marxism at Shenzhen University continued to give full play to its theoretical, intellectual, and faculty strengths by organizing the second batch of grassroots theoretical publicity teams to Lufeng City, Shanwei, where they carried out paired co-construction theoretical publicity activities at the New Era Civilization Practice Centers across nine towns and subdistricts. Nine faculty members, centering on the Party’s latest innovative theories and major meeting spirits, combined their academic expertise to deliver a rich and insightful ideological feast for grassroots cadres and local residents.

At the Donghai Subdistrict, Professor Cui Hongyi delivered a lecture titled “Technological Revolution and the Development of the Socialist Cause.” He noted that in the ongoing Fourth Industrial Revolution, China’s rapid progress in digital and intelligent transformation has injected new momentum into socialist development. Reviewing the historical impact of the four industrial revolutions on productivity and production relations, he highlighted the driving force of technological revolution in advancing socialism. Professor Cui emphasized that while emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence present challenges — including job structure transitions, uneven computing resource distribution, and limited technological inclusiveness — they also stimulate systemic and institutional innovation. China, he noted, is actively developing new quality productive forces and fostering an open, innovative ecosystem to respond to global technological competition and open up new paths for modernization.

At the Bomei Town New Era Civilization Practice Center, Associate Professor Huang Jichao focused on the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, sharing key perspectives on advancing high-quality united front work. He stressed that in the new era, united front efforts should better serve the great cause of Chinese-style modernization and play a greater role in promoting national reunification, thus contributing to the realization of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

At the Chengdong Subdistrict, Assistant Professor Bi Yana presented on “The Practice and Achievements of Major-Country Diplomacy with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era.” She contextualized her lecture within the “unprecedented global changes in a century,” explaining the connotations of a community with a shared future for mankind. Using current China–U.S. trade relations as an example, she analyzed the internal driving forces behind China’s unstoppable rise and envisioned the promising future of major-country diplomacy in the new era.

At the Nantang Town New Era Civilization Practice Center, Assistant Professor Li Ming led cadres and local representatives in revisiting the origins, content, and core essence of the CPC’s Eight-Point Regulation. He elaborated on the significance of its spirit and the manifestations of violations, linking it to the ongoing national campaign on studying and implementing the Eight-Point Regulation spirit. He called on grassroots cadres and citizens to start with themselves and put the regulation into concrete practice.

At the Hexi Subdistrict, Assistant Professor Li Tianling gave a lecture titled “Patriotism in the Core Socialist Values.” Centering on the theme of patriotism, she examined the thoughts of Liang Qichao, a major modern thinker from Guangdong’s Jiangmen region. She discussed the practical orientation, educational essence, and civilizational dimension of Liang’s patriotic thought, emphasizing its enduring relevance for contemporary society.

At the Bawan Town New Era Civilization Practice Center, Assistant Professor Chen Xiangyu provided an in-depth interpretation of the Third Plenary Session’s policies. He outlined the strategic direction of reform — emphasizing that further deepening reform and opening up is essential for advancing Chinese-style modernization. He elaborated on key reform areas: building a high-standard socialist market economy, tackling difficult livelihood issues such as income distribution, advancing integrated reforms in education, science, and talent systems, and deepening democracy and the rule of law. Finally, he highlighted the importance of Party leadership in reform implementation, stressing political accountability, trial initiatives, and risk control, while upholding discipline and combating formalism and bureaucracy to ensure reform outcomes translate into tangible progress.

At the Tanxi Town, Assistant Professor Zhao Leilei gave a lecture titled “Studying the Spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee: Promoting Integrated Development of Education, Science, and Talent.” She elaborated on three aspects: (1) the proposal and evolution of the integration strategy since the 18th CPC National Congress; (2) the historical development of education–science–talent integration; and (3) the session’s specific institutional reforms promoting unified advancement in these areas, analyzing new directions for the “three-in-one” model.

At the Ximen Community New Era Civilization Practice Center in Jieshi Town, Assistant Professor Li Shengtao presented a report titled “The CPC’s Tradition of Investigation and Research.” Focusing on Mao Zedong’s “On the Ten Major Relationships,” he discussed how to select representative subjects, conduct symposiums, and process investigative data into reports, illustrating the methodological rigor of the CPC’s investigative tradition.

General Secretary Xi Jinping once emphasized that “possessing the scientific theory of Marxism is the defining character and unique advantage of our Party, and the fundamental basis for maintaining faith, conviction, and historical initiative.”
By bringing Marxist theory, the Party’s innovative ideas, and the latest policy directions to the grassroots level, the School of Marxism at Shenzhen University helps cadres and citizens strengthen their ideological foundations and serve the people more effectively.
The paired co-construction activities with the Shanwei New Era Civilization Practice Centers will continue to be carried out, while parallel grassroots theoretical publicity programs across Shenzhen’s districts are also being advanced in tandem.
