    The School of Marxism at Minzu University of China Visits Our School for Research and Exchange

    On the morning of June 23, 2025, a delegation from the School of Marxism at Minzu University of China visited the School of Marxism at Shenzhen University for a research and exchange meeting. The event was held in Room 1600, 6th Floor, Huiwen Building, on the Yuehai Campus of Shenzhen University.

    The delegation from Minzu University of China included Professor Sun Ying, former Party Secretary and Dean of the School of Marxism; Professor Liu Shuhong, Head of the Discipline of Ideological and Political Education; Mr. Li Qingbo, Deputy Director of the General Office and Party Committee Office; and Associate Professor Yue Fenglan, Deputy Director and Secretary-General of the Minzu University Research Base of the Beijing Research Center for Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, as well as Chair of the Department of Ideological and Political Education.

    Participants from Shenzhen University included Associate Dean Sun Tingting, Director of the Department of Ideological and Legal Education Liu Haijuan, and Graduate Teaching Secretary Deng Jialu. The meeting was chaired by Associate Dean Sun Tingting.


    At the symposium, Associate Dean Sun Tingting extended a warm welcome to the visiting delegation from Minzu University of China. She introduced the overall situation of the School of Marxism at Shenzhen University, covering its historical development, Party-building leadership, ideological and political course construction, faculty strength, talent cultivation, and disciplinary development.

    Mr. Li Qingbo from Minzu University gave an overview of the university’s development, institutional characteristics, and distinctive educational features. Professor Sun Ying presented a comprehensive introduction to the School of Marxism at Minzu University, highlighting its history, faculty composition, disciplinary development, research characteristics, and its outstanding contributions in serving national strategies and advancing education for ethnic unity and progress.

    Professor Liu Shuhong provided a detailed briefing on the construction of the ideological and political education discipline. Associate Professor Yue Fenglan shared the school’s unique strengths in research and dissemination of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. She introduced the Collaborative Research Base for Xi Jinping Cultural Thought at Minzu University, elaborating on its background, operational mechanisms, core research areas, and major achievements, and explained its important role in deepening theoretical research on the “Second Integration” — that is, the integration of the basic tenets of Marxism with China’s specific realities and with its fine traditional culture. She also discussed the development of the Courses on Ideology and Moral Cultivation and Introduction to the Basic Principles of Marxism.

    Following these presentations, the faculty members of Shenzhen University’s School of Marxism shared their views on the major theoretical issue of “The Strategic Considerations and Inner Logic of the Transition from the ‘First Integration’ to the ‘Second Integration’.” They agreed that this strategic transformation reflects the Chinese Communist Party’s theoretical consciousness and cultural confidence in advancing the sinicization and modernization of Marxism in the new era. The “Second Integration” not only deepens the integration of Marxism with China’s specific realities but also emphasizes its profound fusion with Chinese excellent traditional culture, aiming to activate the intrinsic value of Chinese culture under Marxist guidance and build a discourse and value system with Chinese characteristics, style, and ethos.

    The meeting was conducted in a warm and cordial atmosphere, achieving fruitful results and laying a solid foundation for future cooperation and continued exchanges between the two schools.
