On the morning of September 23, Liu Zhi, Dean of the School of Marxism at Shenzhen University, led a delegation to the School of Marxism at Hunan University for a research and study visit. The delegation included Associate Deans Sun Tingting and Ren Heng, Director of the Department of Basic Principles of Marxism Guo Xiaoshuo, and administrative staff member Zhu Zirui. They were warmly received by Yuan Baishun, Vice Dean of the School of Marxism at Hunan University; Liu Guangbin, Deputy Party Secretary and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission; Liu Jin, Vice Dean; and Wang Bo, Associate Professor in the Department of Basic Principles of Marxism. The two sides held a symposium and engaged in in-depth discussions.

During the symposium, Vice Dean Yuan Baishun extended a warm welcome to Dean Liu and his delegation, providing a comprehensive overview of the core areas of the school’s development. Focusing on ideological and political course teaching and curriculum development, Vice Dean Liu Jin elaborated on Hunan University’s practical experience, highlighting its remarkable achievements and innovative mechanisms in disciplinary development, research organization, faculty building, and student cultivation.
Dean Liu Zhi then introduced the purpose of this visit. He emphasized that the School of Marxism at Shenzhen University is currently at a crucial stage of development. On one hand, the school is prioritizing the application for the first-level doctoral program in Marxist Theory and is eager to draw on advanced institutional experiences. On the other hand, as the school undertakes the drafting of its 15th Five-Year Plan, it seeks to learn from Hunan University’s successful practices to transform these insights into practical momentum for institutional growth.
During the exchange session, the two sides held in-depth discussions on key topics such as postgraduate training programs, evaluation mechanisms for ideological and political course teaching, and the construction of virtual simulation teaching laboratories. Through this comprehensive and constructive dialogue, the visit effectively established a bridge for communication and cooperation between the two schools. Both parties expressed a shared commitment to further strengthening collaboration in faculty training, curriculum co-development, and research cooperation. They aim to share high-quality resources and jointly promote the high-quality development of Marxist theory as a discipline, contributing to the enhancement of ideological and political education in the new era.
