On the afternoon of March 17, 2025, Professor Wang Hong, Party Secretary of the School of Marxism, delivered the "First Ideological and Political Class" of the new semester for all students in the 2623 Conference Room of Huiwen Building. The event was hosted by Wang Ping, Party Deputy Secretary of the School.

Professor Wang Hong gave a lecture titled "Telling the Story of Guangdong’s High-Quality Development and Writing a New Chapter of Guangdong Practice with Youth," focusing on the aspects of learning, work, and life. In terms of learning, she emphasized that youth are the main force behind social innovation and creation, and high-quality development cannot be achieved without the vitality, passion, and innovative capabilities of the younger generation. She encouraged students to "measure the earth with their steps" and actively participate in practical activities such as red culture micro-courses, community theoretical presentations, and the university student ideological and political class competition, honing their will and increasing their abilities through practice.
Regarding employment, in light of the current severe employment situation, Professor Wang stated that high-quality development provides more employment and development opportunities for young people, but it also places higher demands on them. Students should study diligently, forge ahead, and continuously improve their academic research abilities, language expression skills, and comprehensive practical abilities to achieve their own high-quality development. In terms of life, Professor Wang reminded everyone that "health is the capital of revolution." Appropriate physical exercise can relieve stress, strengthen the body, and forge willpower. Only by maintaining good physical condition and mental outlook can students better devote themselves to study and research work. Finally, Professor Wang emphasized that high-quality development not only requires young people to have an innovative spirit and a sense of social responsibility but also requires them to realize their personal ideals in conjunction with national development and social needs, achieving their life value on a broader stage.
On the morning of March 19, 2025, Professor Liu Zhi, Dean of the School of Marxism, delivered the "First Ideological and Political Class" for all students in the 2623 Conference Room of Huiwen Building. The event was hosted by Bian Kebi, the school counselor.

Dean Liu Zhi spoke on the topic "How Can the New Generation of the Era Fulfill Their Mission?" He mentioned that the world is undergoing unprecedented changes, and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation has entered a critical period. The new generation is tasked with the historical mission of achieving the second centenary goal and building a modern socialist country. As graduate students in Marxist theory, they must deeply understand their responsibility in shaping souls and educating people, integrating their personal ideals with the Party's educational cause, and contributing their youthful strength in cultivating the new generation capable of shouldering the responsibility of national revival.
Drawing from his rich experience in teaching and research, Dean Liu analyzed the framework of "Problem Positioning - Research Development - Result Presentation" to discuss "what is a problem, how to express a problem, and how to choose a problem." He elaborated on the differences between inductive and deductive logic and their applicable contexts, highlighting the charm of academic research from three aspects: depth of thought, logical rigor, and language expression skills, providing students with clear ideas and guidance for their future scientific research. He encouraged students to "study diligently and think critically," solidifying their foundation in Marxist theory and improving their ideological and political education expertise. He also encouraged them to "be brave in practice," actively participating in ideological and political education practice and social practice to enhance their capabilities. He stressed the importance of "refining character" and consciously practicing the core values of socialism, striving to become socialist builders and successors with both virtue and talent.
Dean Liu Zhi concluded by stating that the new generation must possess qualities such as "firm ideals and beliefs," "strong capabilities," "a strong sense of responsibility," and "noble moral character." He urged students to "set lofty goals, be clear about virtue, achieve great talents, and shoulder great responsibilities," focusing on improving their Marxist theoretical literacy, professional ability in ideological and political education, and research skills, striving to become political, emotionally driven, innovative, broad-minded, self-disciplined, and righteous postgraduates in the new era.
