On the morning of September 27, a series of lectures on Ideological and political theory for doctoral students were held at h4-201, liberal arts building, Shenzhen University. We have the honor to invite Professor Xu Jianhua, vice president of the school of Marxism of Shenzhen University, to give a special report on "the changes of world order under the epidemic situation and the trend of Sino US relations" to doctoral students. With years of research experience, solid theoretical knowledge of international relations and vivid language, Professor Xu Jianhua discussed with his classmates the changes in the current world order of the epidemic and the trend of Sino US relations.
First of all, Professor Xu Jianhua told the students about the "epicenter" transfer of the epidemic crisis, that is, the transfer from East Asian countries to Europe, America, India and the southern hemisphere, and analyzed different coping strategies for the epidemic. In particular, he pointed out that the success of China's response was mainly based on institutional advantages, public awareness and strong grassroots mobilization capacity, which was also a manifestation of the country's soft power. Secondly, Professor Xu Jianhua stressed that the epidemic has not changed its direction but accelerated its pace in terms of the impact of the international pattern and Sino US relations. Before the outbreak, profound changes had taken place in the balance of power between major powers, especially between China and the United States. The US's blocking of Chinese high-tech enterprises such as Huawei is based on such concerns. Finally, Professor Xu Jianhua analyzed Thucydides trap and jindelberg trap, and pointed out that in the case of no all-out war, the competition for the power of rule-making among big powers will be more intense. The future evolution of Sino US relations is full of uncertainty. For the difficulties facing China, China should have sufficient psychological preparation, calmly cope with the current complex situation, turn pressure into reform impetus, and turn challenges into opportunities.
