To ensure that student ideological and political education in the new era is carried out in a solid and meticulous manner, to steadily consolidate the School's system for nurturing people through ideological and political education, and to give full play to the distinctive educational strengths of the "five elders" of the Committee for the Care of the Next Generation — who pass on ideals, work style and experience — the School of Marxism of Shenzhen University held a themed event titled "Caring for the Next Generation, Passing the Torch Onward" on September 20, 2026. The event specially invited Ms. Liu Chaorong, a retired faculty member of the School and a member of its Committee for the Care of the Next Generation, to return to campus, where she sat down face-to-face with representatives of the incoming students to talk heart-to-heart and share her valuable experience, nourishing the growth of young people with the original aspiration of silver-haired veterans. Wang Ping, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School, faculty representative Gao Wang, and counselor Bian Kebing attended the event.

Ms. Liu Chaorong placed high expectations on the young students. After the discussion, Ms. Liu Chaorong visited the School's teaching venues, office areas and research-and-study practice spaces in person to gain an in-depth understanding of the new students' current study and life, the confusions they face in growing up, and their development needs, showing genuine care for the growth and success of young students.
